Privacy policy

Effective 6 October 2026 · Last updated 6 October 2026

This policy explains how Tevo handles personal information when you browse events, book tickets, host events, or use our check-in tools. It applies to guest buyers as well as account holders.

Who this policy covers

Tevo is the ticketing service at tevo.remitaiapp.com. We decide how information is used to run accounts, checkout, ticket delivery, platform security, and support. An event organiser also decides how attendee information is used to run their event. Organisers are responsible for their own privacy notices and any separate uses of that information.

Information we handle

  • Accounts: your name, email address, account identifier, profile information supplied through sign-in, and buyer or organiser role.
  • Bookings: buyer name and email, event and ticket selections, booking answers requested by the organiser, waiting-list entries, order status, and ticket codes.
  • Payments: amounts, fees, provider references, verification results, refunds, and payout records. Payment details entered in the provider’s checkout are handled by that provider; Tevo does not ask you to enter a card PIN or banking password in our ticket form.
  • Organisers: event details, images, verified bank and account details, payout setup, and settlement records.
  • Operations: ticket scan attempts, attendance, gate and scanner identifiers, account permissions, and messages you send us. Hosting, authentication, and payment services may also process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, and security logs.

Required booking fields are marked in the form. Without the information needed to issue or deliver a ticket, we may be unable to complete a booking. Avoid entering sensitive information into a free-text field unless it is necessary and the organiser has explained its use.

Why we use information

Purposes and lawful grounds for processing
PurposeLawful ground
Accounts, purchases, tickets, event notices, check-in, refunds, and organiser settlementPerforming our service contract or taking steps you request before booking
Preventing fraud, protecting ticket inventory, resolving support issues, and securing the serviceLegitimate interests, balanced against your rights
Required financial records, lawful requests, and regulatory dutiesApplicable legal obligations
Optional uses that require your permissionSeparate consent, which you may withdraw

Reading this policy or booking a ticket is not blanket consent to unrelated marketing. Transactional ticket emails and important event updates are part of the booking service.

Who receives information

The organiser and authorised event staff can access information needed to manage bookings and admission. Platform administrators have access needed for support, security, payment reconciliation, and disputes.

We use Clerk for sign-in, Convex for application data and files, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email delivery, and OPay or Paystack for payments, depending on the checkout provider. These services process information needed for their tasks and may have separate privacy notices. We may disclose information when lawfully required or necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

Providers may process information outside Nigeria. International transfers must meet the safeguards or other permitted grounds under the Nigeria Data Protection Act. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data. We do not sell attendee lists.

Browser storage and location

Cookies and similar storage support sign-in, security, saved theme preferences, and service operation. Guest checkout stores booking access credentials and saved ticket links on your device so you can return to your purchase. Scanner tools may keep a local event manifest and pending scans for offline operation.

Anyone with a ticket link or code may be able to open the ticket and present it for entry. Keep these private, especially on shared devices. Clearing browser storage can remove guest recovery information and unsynchronised scans.

Local-time displays read your device’s configured time zone. This does not request GPS access or determine your city. City and state shown for an event are information supplied by the organiser.

Retention and security

Retention depends on the record: account data supports your account; booking and attendance data supports event delivery and later disputes; financial and audit records support reconciliation, fraud prevention, and applicable recordkeeping duties. Information may need to remain while a refund, chargeback, legal claim, or statutory retention duty is outstanding. You can request the applicable retention period and deletion review for a particular record.

We restrict access by role and verify sensitive operations on the server. These measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security. Report suspected misuse of a ticket or account promptly.

Your rights and choices

Subject to the conditions in Nigerian law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data; object to relevant processing; withdraw consent; and challenge significant decisions based solely on automated processing. Withdrawing consent does not undo earlier lawful processing.

Payment verification, capacity checks, and duplicate-scan detection use automated rules and can prevent checkout or admission. Contact us if you believe a result is wrong and need it reviewed.

Send a request to the contact below. We may ask for proportionate proof of identity or booking ownership to protect your information. Some financial records cannot be erased immediately; we will explain any applicable restriction. Deleting a sign-in account does not itself delete every Tevo transaction record.

Children’s information

Children should use Tevo with a parent or guardian. Where consent is the required legal ground for processing a child’s information, parent or guardian consent and appropriate verification are required. Organisers must respect event age restrictions and avoid requesting unnecessary information about children. Contact us if a child’s information has been submitted inappropriately.

Contact and complaints

Contact Tevo at tickets@remitaiapp.com for privacy requests or concerns. Include the relevant event or booking reference; do not send payment passwords or a full card number.

You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. This policy is informed by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and the Commission’s 2025 General Application and Implementation Directive. We will publish changes here and bring material changes to your attention where required.
