Create and manage an event

Create the event in four short sections: details, schedule, tickets, and Discovery. You can move between sections at any time.

Create your event

  1. Sign in and open the Organiser workspace. If you are new to hosting, become an organiser first.
  2. Open My events and create an event.
  3. On mobile, use the four editor sections: Details → Schedule → Tickets → Discovery. Your entries stay in the same form while you move between sections.
  4. Add the event name, description, cover, venue, city and state. A saved draft is not visible to buyers.

Set the dates

Choose the event time zone before checking the start and end times. For an event in Nigeria, Africa/Lagos means West Africa Time (WAT).

  • Single event: enter one start and end time.
  • Across several days: enter the range, generate days, then review each session.
  • Recurring event: choose the repeat interval and generate the dates you actually plan to host.

Session capacity can further limit a particular date. It never increases the event-wide capacity.

Tickets and capacity

Event capacity is the absolute number of people Tevo can issue admission for across all ticket types. Each ticket type also has its own capacity.

Example: an event may have a 500-person event capacity while Standard is allocated 450 and VIP 100. Tevo stops issuance at 500 even though those allocations total 550.

For each ticket type set its name, price, capacity and Max / order. A buyer cannot select more than that limit in one checkout. For an entirely free event, set every public ticket type to ₦0. Free tickets carry no Tevo fee.

Complimentary tickets and normal bookings both consume capacity. Tevo will not silently issue above the ticket-type, session or event limit.

Issue complimentary tickets

Open the event dashboard and choose Issue tickets beside Attendees. Enter the guest email, choose any ticket type and quantity, then issue it.

A paid ticket type keeps its normal public price. Tevo records the organiser-issued ticket as complimentary, charges the guest ₦0, adds no platform fee, and still counts it against capacity. Use the optional internal note for labels such as sponsor, artist guest, staff or media.

Complimentary issuance is separate from public free registration. It is an organiser action, so it can be used even when that email already has a public ticket.

Connect payouts

Paid public ticket types require the payout setup shown in the Organiser workspace before publishing. Complimentary issuance does not create a payment or payout.

Open Payout account, verify the account details requested by Tevo, save them, then return to the event.

Publish and share

  1. Review the cover, location, dates, event capacity, prices and ticket limits.
  2. Select Publish. If the event shows Under review, wait for approval.
  3. When its status is Live, a public event is eligible for Tevo Discovery.
  4. Use Share to send the public event link. Do not share a buyer’s QR ticket.

Common setup problems

Capacity is below issued tickets

Tevo protects sold, reserved and complimentary inventory. Increase the event or ticket-type capacity instead of reducing it below already-issued attendance.

“Generate or add your event dates”

Generate the schedule or add sessions manually, review the resulting dates, then save again.

Your event is missing from Discovery

Check its status and visibility. Draft, private, unlisted, test, cancelled and ended events are not part of normal public Discovery.
